DAY 01 : LUANG PRABANG International Arrival

Welcome to the “Land of a million elephants”!

Offering a refreshing change from the modernity of the rest of the world, this landlocked mountainous nation offers misty mountains, beautiful French colonial towns and golden glittering Buddhist stupas.

Upon arrival at Luang Prabang Airport, after clearing all customs procedures, please proceed to exit gate and look for your guide who will be waiting at the lobby, holding the welcome signboard with your name on it. Your guide will come to meet you up and transfer you to hotel.

The regular check-in time is at 14:00; early check-in is not included and subject to availability.

Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 02 : LUANG PRABANG

After breakfast at the hotel, meet your guide at the hotel lobby and start cycling around Luang Prabang to visit the ancient temples of this historical town.

Vat Xieng Thong: Founded in the 16th century, the "Temple of the Golden City" is considered to be the most beautiful in the country, with the roofs of the main sanctuary descending almost to the ground and the fineness of its decorations, Mosaic of the tree of life adorning the back of the sim or the small red chapel housing a very rare lying Buddha.

Royal Palace as a national museum: Built at the beginning of the 20th century, it housed the royal family until the abolition of the monarchy in 1975. It is possible to discover the official spaces, as well as the royal family. The Phra Bang, the Buddha statue that gave the city its name, is housed in a recent chapel built in the gardens of the Palace.

Enjoy a lunch at a local restaurant.

Vat Mai: built at the beginning of the 18th century, it is one of the most beautiful temples in the city, with its special roof with 5 sides, and its veranda sheltering a golden façade recounting episodes of the Ramayana mingled with everyday life scenes. The temple of the royal family, former residence of the head of the Buddhist community, the Phra Bang, the effigy of the most sacred Buddha in the country, is exposed yearly for a few days at New Year's Eve as to be lustral watered.

Museum T.A.E.C: whose collection allows to discover the great diversity and cultural richness of the different ethnic groups living in Laos (Laos, Hmong, Tai, Kamu, Akha). This museum is supported by a NGO in Australia and is financed solely by donations from individuals, entrance fees and activities proposed in situ.

Vat Visoun: the oldest temple in the city, with a unique style, with a unique style, whose window balusters make a nod to the Khmer style of Vat Phou in Champassak, and That Makmo, its stupa with the characteristic shape of watermelon.

At the end of the day, the bravest ones will climb 300-steps up Mount Phousi, a sacred hill located in the center of the peninsula. From its summit, it offers a panoramic view of the city, the Mekong and the surrounding mountains.

Return to your hotel and the remainder of the day is free at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 03 : LUANG PRABANG Picturesque Kuang Si Waterfalls and Peaceful Eden Farm        

Breakfast at the hotel.

Your day begins with an early rise to visit a rural local market. Walk around the market and observe locals wearing traditional costumes trading in animals and farm produce including vegetables, fruits, and local specialities. The atmosphere of the market makes it a memorable, lively experience.

After exploring the market, drive 29 kilometres (approximate 40 minutes) south of Luang Prabang to visit the incredible must-see Kuang Si Waterfalls. Known for their picturesque cascades of vibrant blue water, the jungle-clad waterfalls make for an excellent day of trekking, swimming and touring.

Climb to the top of the three-tiered falls for spectacular views. Along the way, learn some jungle survival skills from your expert guide as he teaches you how to identify herbs, mushrooms, bamboo shoots and other plants as well as how to fish the local way. En route you will pass the Asian Bear Rescue Center, home to Sun Bears and Malayan Black Bears that have been rescued from bile farms or wildlife traffickers.

Enjoy a picnic lunch and a refreshing swim in one of the many natural pools.

After that, you will reach the Mekong shore and cruise back to Luang Prabang. On the way, you will stop in Mekong Eden Farm, a charming hidden garden in the forest. You will be greeted by Om, a young Laotian, biologist of formation and passionate of plants and agriculture.

Later, return to your hotel and overnight in Luang Prabang.

DAY 04 : LUANG PRABANG Awaiting Bucolic Countryside 

Breakfast at the hotel.

08:00, meet your guide at the lobby. A bucolic, energetic, social and immersive stopover awaits you this day.

In the morning, you will head to the Living Land Farm, a 30-minute drive from Luang Prabang, to discover and participate in all stages of rice cultivation.

Living Land is a tourism community project led by the dynamic Mountains Launt these last few years - Through this activity, Living Land campaigns for a rational cultivation of rice without the use of pesticides and finances English courses and tutoring for 7 students from neighbouring villages selected at the beginning of the year by the professors according to their merit and all coming from families in difficulties.

Return to Luang Prabang and have a free afternoon at leisure for your own exploration.

DAY 05 : LUANG PRABANG International Departure

Breakfast at the hotel.

Free time at leisure until check out by 12:00 and meet your guide at the hotel lobby. Transfer from your hotel to the airport for your departure flight.
